Opus 1.  Emotion-scape

Oil on canvas, price upon request

Op. 1 is a series of paintings called emotion-scape because they are visualizations of consciousness and feelings, as if they are landscapes of the mind. This study is a journey of psychological metamorphosis, from darkness to light, from melancholy to harmony. Richness and depth are built using merely four colors -- black, white, blue, and red. Each color represents a different element and are blended purposefully to tell a story.

Blue

French Ultramarine --  reminiscent of lapis lazuli -- is a modest yet regal color. It is chosen to represent "self".

Black

Ivory Black symbolizes darkness, anguish and despair.

White

Titanium White is a bright and powerful force referring to light, righteousness and grace in this piece.

Red

Alizarin Crimson is a beautiful red with a hint of purple. It signifies compassion, empathy and warmth.
