OPUS 6. Historia vitae
Ink on paper, price upon request
Opus 6 is a collection of line drawings inspired by the growth rings of trees — a nature-inspired but also abstract approach to telling stories about our lives. Each line has a beginning and an end on paper, symbolizing that every event has its cause and outcome. Our memories grow and expand outward through time. Lines must not cross similar to rings of trees, as the past cannot be altered. As time goes by, each adjacent line appears not to have drifted very far — on a daily basis we often feel that our lives seem very much the same as yesterday. And yet over time, when we look back, everything has changed. Paths unfold in unexpected ways and patterns emerge despite very small incremental difference from line to line. Such is the unique record of one’s life — historia vitae.
